With high aluminum, low iron, low silicon and low alkali content, the 
mineralogy of the ore, together with processing techniques involving 
crushing, selecting and super-calcination, ensures high density, low 
porosity and mineral shrinkage during fire. 

Strict control measures assure a consistent, uniform quality. 

Any of several forms of aluminum oxide, Al2O3, occurring naturally as 
corundum in a hydrated form in bauxite, and with various impurities 
such as ruby, sapphire, and emerald, used in aluminum production and 
in abrasives, refractory, ceramic, and electrical insulation.
